The 2026 Kearsney Hockey Fives delivered a weekend of thrilling, high-intensity action, with 25 teams showcasing skill, speed and strategy in this fast-paced format.

Durban High School (DHS) claimed victory in the boys’ high school division, while Our Lady of Fatima topped the girls’ section. Primary schools participated in a more relaxed festival-style event, contributing to the spirit of the occasion.

Seven boys’ high school teams, six girls’ high school sides, and 12 primary school teams participated in great playing weather.

For the second successive year, the boys’ section was won by DHS who, despite losing to Hilton College in their pool game, managed to turn the tide in the final and ran out deserving and convincing winners.

St Mary’s DSG went through pool stages unbeaten, including a win against Our Lady of Fatima.

In the final, however, Fatima came out strongly and sneaked past St Mary’s to win the girls’ section for the first time.
