SOCCER REPORT
Kearsney College produced a performance of discipline and intensity to claim a historic 2-1 victory over Maritzburg College at home.

From the opening whistle, Kearsney imposed themselves on the contest, overwhelming College with their energy and intensity, while maintaining the discipline and structure that have become central to the team’s approach. The hosts competed relentlessly, denying their opponents time and space while remaining composed in possession.

That structured approach was complemented by clinical finishing in the final third, as Kearsney made their opportunities count to establish themselves in the contest.

Simnene Khubeka converted from the penalty spot before completing his brace with just two minutes remaining. Maritzburg College continued to provide a stern challenge, but Kearsney showed maturity and determination to withstand the pressure and protect their advantage.

The 2-1 victory represented a significant moment for Kearsney football and was a fitting reward for a performance built on collective effort, tactical discipline and an unwavering desire to compete.

INDOOR HOCKEY REPORT
Following some mixed results the previous week, Kearsney’s 1st indoor hockey team bounced back in impressive fashion with a dominant 5-1 victory over Ashton College.

Kearsney found good momentum from the outset and produced a confident, controlled performance throughout the match. Moving the ball well and applying consistent pressure, they created numerous attacking opportunities and took full advantage of their chances in front of goal. Their dominance was reflected on the scoreboard as they secured a convincing four-goal win.

Dylan Forbes led the scoring with a well-taken brace, while Cameron Elliot, Aaron Blackburn and Keegan de Jager each added a goal to complete an excellent team display. The result highlighted Kearsney's growing confidence and ability to convert possession into goals.

The team was eagerly anticipating their next fixture against DHS, but unfortunately a power outage resulted in the match being postponed. The fixture will be rescheduled, meaning Kearsney now faces a busy week ahead with three matches scheduled.
